Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt and set aside

Cream butter with brown sugar, then beat in eggs and almond extract

mix well, then stir in dry ingredients a little bit at a time

spread evenly in bundt pan and bake 45 min or until golden brown

toast slivered almonds (or, realize you don't have slivered almonds, and proceed to make your own.  how do you make slivered almonds? very carefully) let cool

mix together preserves, lemon and water.  boil until glaze-y.

attempt to turn bundt cake upside down to prepare for glazing, but instead drop half the very, very hot cake down your top

eat the pieces that fell down your shirt (waste not want not), then poke holes in cake and dribble half the glaze on top.  sprinkle with almonds (I added dried apricots, too) then pour the remaining glaze to seal the almonds/apricots.
