This is the Friday Fiction I've been wanting to write, in the immortal words of Squints, for-ev-er. For some reason Rebekah and I freaking love Criminal Minds (just kidding we know the reason: 'cause it's awesome!). We love Rossi's Cigar Afficianado personality, Morgan's extreme need to nurture and play saviour, the friendship between the gals, the quotes at the beginning and end of each episode (fun drinking game: guess the quotee!), Mandy Patinkin (we'll never stop missing you, Gideon!), the amazing guest stars they get to play super creepy unsubs (Keith Carradine – be still my heart – and Tim Curry and Number Six/Caprica), the excessive use of the word 'unsub'... We all have murky memories from our childhood, memories we're not entirely sure aren't just dreams we've convinced ourselves happened, so weird and patchy that it could really go either way. Such was the case of The Peanut Butter Solution.

The Hypocrisy of the Right, Again: That Old Chestnut by Alex Snider

Hustler is disgusting. Larry Flynt is vile. This picture that was photoshopped of SE Cupp, the conservative commentator, is horrible and reprehensible. Sexualizing and dehumanizing a woman no matter what her views, is wrong. Full stop. I'm especially repulsed by the stunt because the accompanying text is chastising Cupp for her anti-choice, anti-Planned Parenthood stance. Seriously, photoshopping a dick into a woman's mouth in defence of feminist ideals, in defence of my rights is as big of a fuck you to women as any of the filth that Cupp spills on a daily basis.

1. I am disappointed so far by the soundtrack. Yes, there are only two songs featured in the trailer and one is from Watch the Throne of which my love knows no bounds, but man, the Romeo and Juliet soundtrack was *the* definitive cassette of my teen years. I expect more. (Incidentally I also had my first kiss – typo-ed kiss to be kill, yikes – in Romeo and Juliet when it played at the revue theatre where tickets cost $2.25. Those were the days. Unfortunately the boy turned out to be horrible and after we broke up he took to alternately calling me "tight" and a "whore". That doesn't even make sense.) Maybe Luhrmann should just use that soundtrack over and over? When the fireworks exploded I couldn't have been the only one expecting Kym Mazelle's Young Hearts Run Free to start playing.
